As part of the School Teachers Learning project, the participating schools used our Tool for Developing Your School's Prevention System to develop prevention systems adapted to the specific needs and context of their schools.
The tool guides schools step-by-step through the main stages of developing a comprehensive prevention system, including needs assessment, identification of risk and protective factors, setting SMART goals, selecting evidence-based prevention strategies, developing an action plan, engaging key stakeholders, and planning monitoring, evaluation and sustainability.

Learn from other schools
Each school is different. The prevalence of risk behaviours, available resources, school environment, student population and existing prevention activities can vary considerably from one school to another.
For this reason, the examples below aren't intended to be copied directly. Instead, we invite you to explore them for ideas and inspiration and to consider which approaches could be useful and appropriate in your own school context.
